The image depicts a woman's face in shades of cool purple, like her skin is cold. Her red lips are open, and a ball gag featuring Earth as the ball. The black band of the gag has wires running into it that are plugged into the Earth in her mouth; a pulse runs from the wires to a heart in the center of the band, and the pulse follows wires out the other side and into her face.

Unconscious consumption of Earth's resources.Amundson

The story

This piece began as my interpretation of the constant and unconscious consumption of Earth and its resources. What emerged was something more vampiric, the draining of resources for monetary gain versus cultivation of humanity. This needs to be recognized.

From the process

Detail: the hand and the neck of the guitar.
Detail: the blue form against red and orange.
The canvas leaning in a room, for scale.
